For now I broadly see two starting points for a further career path, either in academia as an interaction design researcher, or in industry as a UX designer or researcher.

I seriously consider looking for a PhD position within the topic of designing complex IoT systems in a shared, everyday life context (home, office or public space). I would love to investigate how to design such systems from a neo-animistic perspective and research the impact of object behavior on our everyday life through field studies.

However, I would also love to develop myself as an experience designer focusing on spatial experiences. I will definitely be sending open applications to small to medium design agencies focusing on museum and exhibition design- and experiences.

If the options above do not work out, I will search for positions as UX researcher, where I hope to apply my qualitative research skills. Next to that, I wish to develop skills in quantitative research methods as well.

All in all, the most important criterium for my future job is to work in a team.
